Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Wolf

We had a wonderful lesson in Pre-K this week.  Students sat in a circle and shared a copy of the 3 Little Pigs small book.  We talked about the parts of a book while they explored the book in their hands.  Then, I read the book to them, while they kept track turning pages in their copy.  Most of them had heard the story of the three little pigs and were focusing on details in the pictures to keep track of the story elements.  They were so good sharing - taking turns holding the book and turning pages.

After enjoying the story, I challenged them to build a house from the sticks and blocks at their table.  Then, they got to be the big, bad wolf and try to blow their houses down.  I love how they retold the story as they were working on this. 

Shame on me for not getting more video footage of their creativity.  We were just having too much fun!
